Migration from TAPE to DASD and DASD to TAPE ZELDA can be used in conjunction with ZELA to provide a unique solution. ZELA provides migration from TAPE to DASD and ZELDA provides dataset migration from DASD to TAPE. ZELA fully supports 3480, 3490, 3490E, 3590/magstar tape drives / tape cartridges and all other tape media. ZELDA relocates DASD datasets to the medium of choice including, tape, optical storage, robotic facilities and virtual tape solutions. ZELDA provides storage management professionals with the tools necessary to relocate (Logically Eject) inactive critical production application datasets (DASD) to any medium of choice. During Logical Ejection users can specify dataset stacking, re-blocking , compression and media conversion options to obtain their desired storage management objectives. These products accomplish a reduction in media requirements and provide automated conversion to new technology such as 36TRK, Helical Tape, Robotics, or Optical Storage media. The location of the output devices can be local or reside in a Disaster Recovery facility for archival of historical information. |
