| XREFplus
is a powerful tool that enables you to determine comprehensively how your
installation’s JCL or PROC libraries are using datasets, programs, PROC’s,
and catalogs as well as DASD and tape volumes. Perhaps for the first time,
you will have a complete picture of the interrelationships of JCL, programs,
and datasets. Such information can be useful, even critical, for areas that
support production batch cycles or TSO logon PROC’s. It may also be essential
for departments responsible for DASD management, Disaster Recovery Planning,
or any other area where JCL is involved. Moreover, the XREFplus selection
facility allows you to produce customized reports on many levels to meet
your specific cross-referencing requirements and focus on the information
you need to know. Sometimes you may want a data-center wide report; other
times, possibly only references to a particular dataset or program. The
selection facility and high speed of XREFplus make it possible to generate
a particular report when it is needed, insuring the information it contains
is current. Plus!Writer, an easy to use custom-report definition facility, extends the flexibility of XREF-PLUS! even further. If none of the more than 40 reports generated by XREFplus meets your needs, Plus!Writer lets you design your own. You can tailor reports to highlight specific areas of your JCL libraries as well as create exception reports for problem detection. You can even use Plus!Writer to generate output in PC format as well as in HTML so that reports and data are readily available on your desktop for distribution over your corporate intranet or for use in other applications. XREFplus offers an optional JCL syntax check and verification facility JCLplus. It finds the JCL errors that prevent jobs from running, waste resources, and consume programmer time. JCLplus quickly locates all syntax errors, invalid file specifications, and other errors that might otherwise take significant time to detect. It also resolves all symbolics and expands procedures and include groups to give you a clearer picture of your job. XREFplus provides member-level messages as it processes your JCL or PROC libraries. These messages indicate which members were or were not processed and any problems or errors encountered that might impact the accuracy of the reports produced. You may also choose to have JCL errors reported. You can therefore be confident that the reports you get contain the information you need. In addition, XREFplus also offers a large selection of options that enable you to easily tailor its operation for the most efficient performance and resource usage possible.
